Padre Island National Seashore

Padre Island National Seashore is only accesible
by 4x4, and only in good conditions. There is only
one way off the 75 mile long island and that is the
way you came. My friend Allen Barry and I went 35
miles down the shoreline looking for "treasure"
the big tides might have brought in. We had a
great day and found lots of bouys, buckets, and
BIG rope.
It is egg laying time for the sea turtles down here
and the U of Texas Marine Science and other
organizations here are in full blown turtle patrol.
The sea turtle rehabilitation center is located in
Port Aransas on the U of Texas Marine Science
campus.
